Cool vid! I don't mean to hijack the thread but I'm partial to Frank Marino of Mahogany Rush : www.youtube.com/watch?v=taw0sFEjvpEThe video appears to be a bootleg but he's playing a Hendrix tune.

Wow Frank Marino is hot! That looks like an SG he's playing. I see there's like a 9 minute long lesson video. I'll post the link in the lesson section.

Frank can burn with the best of them. It's a shame that the media wrote him off as nothing more than a Hendrix clone. He is heavily influenced by Jimi but Frank definately has his own sound. Check this out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xF4sZb_tFN4I wish I would have discovered him years ago. There are too many great songs by him to list them all off the top of my head but here is a short list: Midnight Highway Dragonfly Strange Dreams Juggernaught Requiem For A Sinner Stories Of A Hero Little Lover Etc... He has kept up with playing throughout the years and he is still top notch and I don't throw that term around lightly. Very versatile! *Oh, he does mainly play an SG (mostly with a bigsby) but I have seen vids with him occasionally using other guitars.

The SG is a fine guitar for sure. Angus plays one and uses no effects except OD. In the video, Frank duplicated some of Jimi's phrasing note-for-note but did his own rendition for the whole song. Frankly, I don't see Frank as a Jimi copy-cat.
